Arabian Wildlife Centre, Desert Park, Sharjah, UAE
The Centre was developed as the showcase for the Breeding Centre for Endangered Arabian Species. We decided to take an unusual interpretive-led approach to the presentation of living exhibits, incorporating a variety of interactive, audio-visual and three-dimensional interpretive media.

Brown vs. Board of Education Interpretive Center, Topeka, Kansas, USA
The Monroe Elementary School in Topeka, Kansas is a National Historic Site commemorating the landmark US Supreme Court decision of 1954, which ruled that segregated schools were unconstitutional, sparking the Civil Rights actions of the 1950s and 1960s.

These two new museums celebrate the heritage of the Conoco and Phillips Petroleum oil companies. We provided full interpretive planning, exhibit development and design coordination, working in close collaboration with the architectural, project management and ConocoPhillips archive teams.

Haley Sharpe Design is designing Dubai’s first world-class museum project, based within Dubai Maritime City, a ground-breaking off-shore maritime ‘hub’ destination.

Experience Northumberland at Woodhorn, Northumberland, UK
Working closely with the client team and architect, we submitted a successful strategic Stage 2 HLF application and then implemented all the interpretive elements of this project. Within a country park, the scheme draws together the former Woodhorn Colliery Museum and Northumberland County Archive, with new art galleries and the colliery’s surviving historic buildings.

To mark in 2007 the 400th anniversary of the first permanent English settlement in North America, we worked extremely closely with our client partners, architects and planners to create and implement a master plan for this internationally significant archaeological site.

America’s leading maritime museum appointed us to help attract new audiences and to revitalise the original vision of Mystic Seaport for the 21st century. The ideas and collections of the museum were to be re-evaluated and reinterpreted more meaningfully for broader audiences of the new century.

This multi-media attraction combines specimen displays with interpretive technologies to explore the geological development of Sharjah from the ‘Big Bang’ to the coming of its first peoples and their subsequent impact on the environment.

Opening Up the Ulster Museum, Belfast, UK
We prepared an Interpretive Plan and schematic designs for an HLF Stage II Bid for this radical redevelopment of the Ulster Museum. Learning opportunities will extend and enhance gallery experiences, whilst improved visitor services will support the interpretative strategy.

In 2001, Toronto’s ROM, a major world museum, instigated a major redevelopment for the 21st century, comprising insertion of a new wing (by architect Daniel Libeskind) and refurbishment of the existing galleries.

Promoting awareness among regional audiences of the importance of marine heritage, we developed the scheme to completion as a major visitor attraction. Acting as designer and lead consultant, we appointed and managed the team of architects, engineers, aquarium designers/builders and marine biologists.

Manx National Heritage is creating an island-wide interpretation of ‘The Story of Mann’. As part of this programme, the Viking and Medieval galleries at the Manx Museum in Douglas have been refurbished to ensure that the rich material culture is displayed and interpreted in an engaging and appropriate manner.
